- Last full day in Rome, capped off by a seriously beautiful sunset. Spent pretty much the whole day in the Vatican museums, slowly taking it all in. Sistine Chapel was impossible to process in such a short amount of time. I'm a little surprised at how overwhelmed I feel. It is amazing to see how humans have expressed themselves and tried to make sense of the world over thousands and thousands of years, attempting to figure out our purpose and our place in the universe. I wonder if we're any closer to finding an answer. The recent events in England leave me feeling so confused, as it seems so many people are evolving and guided by love. Yet, this element of hate and fear persists. I wonder when humanity as a whole will finally figure it all out. I choose to feel optimistic, although sometimes it's difficult. πŸ’œ

- When I was in 4th grade, I lost the geography bee (nerd alert) because I didn't know about Vatican City. It was a tough loss, but I'm wiser now. And I saw the pope today. He spoke from that little window with the red banner above and to the right of my head. Haven't been to church in awhile, so what better way to get back into it? He said everything in Italian but I'm sure it was good. Pretty amazing how many people were there to hear him give a short blessing. So interesting. Trevi Fountain was pretty, too. #catholic
